The City of Camarillo Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 601 Carmen Drive, Camarillo, on the following agenda item:
Draft 2021-2029 Housing Element Update
The State housing law mandates that all jurisdictions periodically update their Housing Element. The City’s 2013-2021 Housing Element will expire on October 15, 2021. To comply with this State mandate, the City must prepare, adopt, and submit the adopted 2021-2029 Housing Element Update to the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) by October 15, 2021. The update will cover an 8-year period from October 15, 2021 through October 15, 2029.
At this hearing, the Planning Commission will review the draft 2021-2029 Housing Element Update, provide feedback, and make a recommendation to the City Council to direct staff to send the draft document to the HCD for a 60-day preliminary review for compliance with the State housing law.
The Planning Commission may make recommendations or other adjustments deemed to be appropriate to the item. Any person interested in this matter is invited to attend and present testimony either for or against this item. If you challenge the proposed action in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice or in written correspondence delivered to the Planning Commission at or prior to the public hearing.

The Department of Community Development will print your email and distribute copies to all Planning Commissioners prior to the meeting.
